Foster Prep Refrigeration: Catering Equipment Review Show, Season 2

By Phil Scoble

Prep refrigeration is a fantastic way to boost your refrigeration storage and make your preparation more efficient and saves you money. Foster are one of the most respected refrigeration specialists in the world and have decades of experience – what does the company’s prep refrigeration have to attract you?

What does Foster Prep Refrigeration do?

Prep refrigeration is a refrigeration unit with an integrated counter that has slots for food to help you prepare dishes more quickly and efficiently.  By having your ingredients to hand you are quicker in preparing fresh dishes and you also open your fridge doors less, saving you money. Also, by reducing the load on your compressor you are extending its working life – saving you money again.

Who’s it for?

This is for businesses where space is an issue, or where you need to prepare fresh food to order. Smaller cafes can have salad ingredients cut up in the refrigerated pots and prepare a plate in double quick time without having to bend to get ingredients out of the fridge.

This can help you prepare food quicker, keep your ingredients fresher and  save money as you have to open your fridges less, and use less energy.

How does Foster Prep Refrigeration perform?

These machines range from a two door unit with 270 litres of storage all the way up to a five door with a whopping 720 litres and a massive prep area. All of them are Climate Class category 4, which means they will be able to maintain temperature in kitchens up to 32 degrees Celsius. That means you shouldn’t be housing these near to your main cookline – as in summer this could take you above this temperature.

These are perfect for starter sections or front of house areas in cafes with a theatre style production.

Foster is a fantastic brand and these are just as top quality as you would expect. Apart from the above mentioned temperature considerations, you can relax when you buy Foster – they are dependable and well designed. The gaskets remove for easy cleaning and they all have self closing doors, saving you on electricity by keeping the cold in.

These are a fantastic addition to most kitchens and help make your production processes faster and more efficient.
